The 2007 Twin City Ham Club Field Day was held in the "Books-A-Million" parking lot on Lamy Lane in Monroe, Louisiana on June 23-24.

On Friday afternoon, June 22, several gathered at the parking lot. The club had rented a tent that was put up. An electric generator from the Sheriff's office was brought in. The tables and chairs were picked up and brought to the location. Kevin brought the ARES portable tower and it was parked to use for stringing antenna wires.

On Saturday morning people were at the location putting up antennas and getting other things ready. BT fired up the barbeque shortly after noon and cooked meat for sandwiches. Shortly after l p.m. radio operators started making contacts. Several operators changed off and contacts were made through the night and morning hours on Sunday.

Congratulations to Thomas, KD5OQC, for passing the General Class test during the Field Day.

Thank you to everyone that worked to make the 2007 Field Day a success. Thank you to BT, KE5HLT, for handling the cooking duties. A big "Thank you" to Paul, W5PEM, for being the Chairman to see that it was all done in a timely manner.

Pictures were taken by Melinda (N5MEL) and Gene (AC5EU) for use on this website.

Gene took his pictures late at night. Click here to see the pictures that he took.
