The 2009 Twin City Ham Club Hamfest and ARRL Louisiana State Convention was held on April 25th at the Barak Shrine Temple in Monroe, Louisiana.

The Hamfest was dedicated to the memory of Tom Leggett, WD5TL, that became a silent key on March 23rd. Tom was very active in the Louisiana Section cabinet as Section Traffic Manager and LSN Manager. Tom was involved with the activities of the local club and ARES operations as Assistant EC in Ouachita Parish. He loved the hobby of ham radio. He had a large family of ham friends from all over Louisiana.

Winners of the Hamfest Grand Prizes were as follows:

1st prize: Yaesu FT-450AT - Jeff Barnhill, NE5WX
2nd prize: Yaesu FT-60R Dual Band HT - Cullen L. Parker, W5CNN
3rd prize: Yaesu FT-2800 2 meter Mobile - Bobby Baker, AA5LA
