 On Saturday, July 11, 2009, Louisiana State Police Troop F held its second Public Safety Expo and invited local and state law enforcement agencies to bring their safety demonstrations and impressive equipment. Trooper John Nelson helped organize the expo and said the event, meant to educate the public about public safety, was the largest of its kind in the state. They also invited the Northeast Louisiana ARES to bring the Communication Van and Portable Tower to display. They had the ARES Tower placed inside the Civic Center building. Kevin, W5KGT, raised the tower to the ceiling. A number of ARES members were on hand with literature to hand out and explain what ARES does.
